What is an Acceptance Test and Why Do I Need One?

The acceptance test is a crucial element of any equipment purchase. Before newly installed diagnostic imaging equipment is placed into clinical use, an acceptance test should be performed on the equipment by a qualified medical physicist. This test is an extremely methodical inspection of the equipment and its capabilities, intended to verify that the device was installed and set-up properly and that it meets all vendor and industry performance specifications. The test is performed not to accept or reject the equipment, but rather to identify any performance items that should be addressed with the manufacturer and/or installer before final acceptance of your equipment.

Universal Consultants, Inc. offers acceptance testing services for the full range of diagnostic medical imaging equipment. We will also perform testing to determine the performance relative to industry standards. This will ensure that the equipment will be capable of meeting those standards when you are ready to have it accredited.
